ABSTRACT
In 2006, the opportunities brought about by new technologies allowed for the development of railway systems that had thus far not been met. ERTMS, the new signaling system aimed at equipping all networks in Europe should enable a train to run on all lines equipped with this system. Certain lines are already operational in Europe and many other equipment projects are being developed.

INTRODUCTION
