4. ERTMS equipment production

4.1 General

Deployment of the ERTMS Niv2 system requires ground-side installation of RBCs interfaced with :

  • existing interlocking systems ;

  • ancillary equipment necessary for their operation;

  • with GSM-R via MSC.

On the mobile side, EVC equipment is also interfaced with the specific environment required for its operation (HMI, tachometer, radar, power supply, isolation switch, emergency brake controls, etc.).

Each rail infrastructure, and each rail operator, deploys the ERTMS system in its own area (trackside or onboard), according to its own criteria, in compliance with the SRS 2.3.0 standard.
