6. Conclusion
Eco-driving is one of the elements of ecomobility. It concerns humanity's relationship with its preferred mode of transport, the car. It optimizes the relationship between the energy expended by the vehicle and its translation into distance travelled and time spent, with significant progress linked to driver behaviour through training, on-board tools and cooperation between human being/vehicle/environment. These advances are already bringing the horizons of theoretical and real vehicle energy savings closer together. They offer the prospect of more sustainable motoring.
Today, it would be promising to link eco-driving more closely to the set of practices aimed at more sustainable mobility, if the association between the term mobility and the adjective sustainable is not an oxymoron.
