Gutta-percha; gutta-percha

Gutta-percha is a gum derived from the natural latex obtained from the leaves of trees of the Palaquium gutta species and several related species of the Sapotaceae family. Gutta-percha is a polyisoprenoid. The material has adhesive properties, is a good electrical insulator and is bio-inert. It is used in adhesives, surgery (especially dentistry) and stomatology (endodontics).

Ringer's solution; Solution de Ringer

Ringer's solution or liquid is an alkalinizing solution (although its pH is around 7) composed of sodium, potassium and calcium chloride. This solution is close to the ionic composition of physiological fluids. Other solutions of the same type are frequently used to simulate the body environment, such as Hank's solution.
