4. Hot melt adhesives or hot melts
4.1 General
These adhesives are solid, thermoplastic products, usually supplied in granulated form.
To use them, first melt them, usually around 185-205°C in the case of EVA-based hot melts for wood and furniture, then coat them onto one of the two materials to be joined, and immediately assemble the other material by pressing it against the adhesive film.
After assembly, the hot melt adhesive cools very rapidly on contact with the two materials, which are at room temperature, and sets, becoming solid again in a matter of seconds (see curve in figure 12...
