11. Sandwich panels and single-family homes
Sandwich panels based on wood panels are used to build the walls of single-family homes. These panels are both load-bearing, insulating and decorative, thanks to their intelligent construction:
The cores are made of insulating foam or simply wooden strips;
The frames are made of wood, and the faces of plywood or moisture-resistant OSB panels.
These various materials are joined together either by nailing or, more often, by gluing.
