3. Interlayer properties

The properties of interlayers vary according to the type of market and application. Each market has its own particular requirements, and each laminated glass application containing one or other interlayer is standardized and/or subject to international, European and national regulations. Laminate manufacturers have therefore defined specific product families for each market, to meet the required specifications. The three main markets are :

  • Transport: automotive industry, aeronautics industry, railway industry, shipbuilding industry;

  • Buildings: single-family homes, public and private buildings with or without public access;

  • renewable energies: encapsulation of photovoltaic cells for solar modules.
