 INTRODUCTION

Pre-painted aluminum combines the qualities of aluminum (flexibility, lightness, durability) with those of organic coatings (adhesion, aesthetic appearance and color). It can be used with very severe deformations and optimum resistance in any environment (acid rain, for example).

It offers a number of advantages over post-painted aluminum:

  • greater consistency in coating thickness, and therefore in quality;

  • paint savings because no waste.

Pre-painted aluminum currently represents a worldwide market of 460,000 t, and 180,000 t in Europe. It continues to grow by a few percent a year.
