1. General information on metal corrosion

Metals used in practical life are generally ore extracts in which the metallic elements are in an oxidized state, i.e. a thermodynamically stable state. During use, they tend to return to the stable state through oxidation linked to the surrounding environment. In other words, corrosion, the degradation of metallic materials, is an inescapable process.
