caffuts

Parts rejected during inspection due to non-conformity of chemical analysis, microstructure or presence of defects (shrinkage, cracks, blowholes, dross inclusions, etc.).

decochage

All the operations involved in removing the part from the mold, separating the casting and trimming devices.

cast-iron bocage

All used parts sorted by category and whose chemical composition is close to that of the cast iron to be produced.

critical temperature

Melt bath temperature above which silica is decomposed by the carbon dissolved in the liquid melt.

hot melt

When the temperature of the liquid melt exceeds the critical temperature.
