5. Equivalence with foreign standards

Many grades are used with their foreign designation, particularly American grades for certain categories of cold-work tool steels, hot-work tool steels and high-speed steels. It is therefore useful to know the correspondence tables between European, American and Japanese standards, to help users with their equivalence problems. Tables 18 , 19 , 20 and 21 give these equivalences where they exist for :
