Bake hardening is not used in the same way for the manufacture of packaging cans as it is for automotive applications, as the hardening process is often very high, but certain grades are well suited to it. For food packaging, manufacturing cycles may involve several heating operations, from tinning to varnish baking and food sterilization. For high levels of hardening, the use of nitrogen is even possible when the sequence of forming and heating operations allows it.
