1. Approach summary

The energy performance of existing buildings is difficult to characterize. Indeed, beyond the complex energy issues of existing buildings, performance is a polysemous notion relating to objectives, results and the actions implemented to produce these results, thanks to the means given.

  • Performance combines three concepts:

    • Relevance: the relationship between objectives and resources (energy relevance: do the resources deployed during refurbishment correspond to the objectives of reducing energy requirements?
