5.1 General
Video headsets feature dedicated, on-board electronics, designed specifically to meet the needs of a virtual reality application. The on-board inertial unit and/or external cameras can detect head movements (rotations and translations) much more quickly than with smartphones, and with less drift, thus limiting the latency problems between head movements and the effects they have to produce on the content to be displayed on the screen (motion-to-photon or latency in English).
