8. Conclusion
CAVEs and other screen-based devices have been commercially available for many years, even if the market is now small compared with that for headsets. They are therefore stable, reliable products sold by renowned visual interface companies. Major international digital and video game companies have joined forces with virtual reality companies to develop very low-cost headsets and trackers, thanks to the boom in smartphone technology, whose market is much larger than that for headsets.
In 2015 or so, new headsets were announced almost every month. But there were no major advances for headsets in terms of image resolution and increased fields of view.
