7. Conclusion
Optical parametric sources can generate tunable radiation in spectral ranges from ultraviolet to infrared, and even terahertz waves. The nature of the radiation that can be emitted is equally rich. It can be radiation of very high intensity or, on the contrary, states of light that bring out the quantum properties of twin photon pairs. Addressable time regimes range from continuous to ultra-short pulses. This vast array of properties enables us to meet the needs of a wide range of applications.
In spectral ranges where non-linear materials are technologically mature, developments are focused on integrating these sources into systems and instruments that are as close as possible to application needs.
