POF; Plastic Optical Fiber

Plastic optical fiber used in datacommunications or for consumer applications.

OM-x; Multimode Optical Fiber – generation x

Multimode optical fibers are classified/defined according to their generation. For each generation, a performance range is defined. A generation 3 optical fiber (OM-3) is defined by its core diameter, numerical aperture, linear bandwidth and attenuation.
