INTRODUCTION
The thermodynamic properties of water are presented in four tables. Tables 1 , 2 and 3 relate to the two-phase domains: ice-liquid equilibria, solid-vapor equilibria and liquid-vapor equilibria. Table 4 presents the thermodynamic properties of water in the single-phase liquid and vapor domains.
The formulation used is that recommended by the IAPWS (International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam). It covers a range of temperatures (from 0 to 1,000°C) and pressures (from 0.05 to 1,000 MPa) sufficiently wide not to require modification for many years. Data for the extreme temperature (1,500, 2,000 and 2,500 K) and pressure (0.05 to 100 MPa) ranges have also been presented, but are not deduced from IAPWS formulations, while remaining consistent with tabulated data at lower temperatures.
The quantities tabulated are density, enthalpy, entropy and heat capacity at constant volume and pressure. Thermoelastic quantities, as well as internal energy, have not been presented so as not to overload the tables, but, wherever possible, simple and rigorous equations for their calculation have been given.
Interested readers are invited to consult the http://www.lsbu.ac.uk/water/ website on the physical properties of water, which is very comprehensive and continually updated. At the time of publication, it contained over 1,050 references.
