1. A reminder of the permittivity of dielectric materials
In dielectric materials, very few charges are free, which means that no significant electric current can flow. However, the charges present can move locally under the action of an external electric field, generating a current called displacement current due to the modification of the barycenters of the charges. Spherical symmetry is broken, and the barycenters of positive and negative charges no longer coincide.
