Spray drying, also known as spray drying, is a technique for shaping divided solids from a liquid mixture.

The latter is essentially composed of the solid material to be dried, dissolved or dispersed in a solvent to be removed . The mixture may be a simple liquid, such as an ideal solution, or a complex fluid in the form of a thicker or thinner dispersion, emulsion or gel. As with any drying technique, the principle of the operation is to evaporate the liquid present in the mixture by means of heat. In the case of spray drying, this objective is achieved by dispersing the liquid in the form of a mist of very fine droplets
