Conservation; coacervation
This is a phase separation mechanism occurring in polymer solutions and involving the formation of polymer-rich microdomains (coacervates) coexisting with a polymer-poor continuous phase. Coacervation can be simple (a single polymer) or complex (two or more polymers). The formation of certain core-shell microcapsules involves the formation and agglomeration of coacervates at the water/oil interface.
Octanol/water partition coefficient; Coefficient de partage octanol/eau
Parameter describing a molecule's tendency to prefer an apolar to a polar environment. The calculated value (C log P or c log P ) is used.
