6. Capsule handling and formulation

Once the previous stages have been completed, it is necessary to consider how the resulting capsules will be handled (packaging, transport, processing on the customer's site) and formulated into the final product. These aspects impose new constraints of which we need to be aware. Given the diversity of situations that can arise at this stage, only the most important points are mentioned here.

6.1 Solid shapes

When it comes to powder, the following questions should always be borne in mind.

Ease of powder flow: powders obtained by spray-drying are often clogging, which prevents them from flowing easily, especially if the particles are fine. This problem is solved by adding demulsifying agents, such as pyrogenic silicas.
