1. Organic chemistry and perfumery

Organic chemistry is a field of chemistry that developed in the early 19th century with Friedrich Wöhler's accidental synthesis of urea, at a time when scientists thought it impossible to synthesize organic ("living") molecules, which would have required the use of a vital fluid in addition to the laws of physics.
