1.1 Definitions

  • Mineralurgy: all techniques used to process raw mineral materials in order to obtain, by physical, chemical or thermal means, products that can be used directly by industry or transformed by metallurgists.

  • Ore: solid, natural mineral material composed of a certain number of useful (valuable) or non-valuable (gangue) minerals; in a restricted sense, mineral material that can be economically exploited.
