INTRODUCTION
SSL VPNs can be built using a variety of technologies. Indeed, SSL VPNs are a very special type of virtual private network (VPN) because, unlike IPsec , they use a protocol designed to transport application data (SSL) to build a VPN. After defining their fundamental principles, SSL VPNs are presented in the context of site interconnection and nomadic access. As nomadism is the most common but also the most complex use case, the various mechanisms for accessing resources on a private network (intranet) are described in detail. The conclusion summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of SSL VPNs and IPsec VPNs.
