1.1 Overview of mobile network architecture

The successive architectures of mobile networks, from GSM (Global Systems for Mobile Communications ) to LTE/EPC (Long Term Evolution/Evolved Packet Core st) are specified within 3GPP (3 rd Generation Partnership Project). This organization regularly issues new releases that incorporate new requirements and functions.
