1.1 Design and production processes

  • Separation of design and production

    Many professionals use a two-phase development technique, separating abstract design from actual production (figure 1 ).

    • Abstract design leads to the elaboration of very detailed specifications containing page mock-ups and detailed scenarios, including navigation specifications. It corresponds roughly to the analysis phase of computer applications.

    • The actual production process delivers the hypermedia document in accordance with the specifications.
