ABSTRACT
Connected Glasses are augmented reality devices that enable hands-free remote communication. This technology, which is still emerging in the workplace, raises questions about the risk of accidents when employees are walking while wearing connected glasses. An experimental study was carried out to analyse gait parameters. Significant disruptions to walking were observed under different conditions of use of several connected glasses’ models. These results lead us to issue a number of warnings to ensure user safety and are the focus of this article.

INTRODUCTION
Connected glasses (CL) are augmented reality devices that display information in the user's field of vision. This enables users to view data and communicate with people at a distance, while keeping their hands free to carry out their work tasks. For certain applications, such as logistics or industrial maintenance, users may need to use these connected glasses while on the move. These practices raise the question of the risk of falling or colliding with an obstacle when the field of vision and level of attention are potentially reduced. An experimental study was conducted with 80 volunteers to analyze the characteristics of their movement when they had to process, while walking, visual information transmitted to them in the connected glasses. Four different types of connected glasses were used to send information requiring varying levels of attention, as participants moved along either a straight or winding path. Bearing in mind that falls on the same level remain one of the main causes of accidents at work in France, the aim of this article is to raise awareness of the potential risks when using these augmented reality devices while on the move. The results suggest a number of points to watch out for when using connected glasses in a professional context, to ensure the safety of employees who will be using this rapidly developing technology in ever greater numbers in the future.
