3. DAB+ system
The DAB+ system is a variant of the original Eureka-147 DAB system. It was defined by the WorldDMB consortium and standardized in February 2007, with a new version in May 2010, by ETSI [TS 102 563]. DAB+ specifies the transport of audio in MPEG-4 AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) compression format. It is a much more efficient solution than DAB for radio broadcasting, and inherits all the existing functions of traditional DAB (announcements, slideshow, electronic program guide, multiplex reconfiguration, etc.).
