5. DAB-IP system

The [ETSI ES 201 735] standard, dated September 2000, defines the mechanism for transporting IP packets through (Internet Protocol datagram tunnelling ) the DAB system. As illustrated by the layered model in figure 36 and figure 37 , this is done by encapsulating an IP datagram:

  • in one or more MSC (Main Service Channel Data Group) data groups;

  • in packet mode, protected by a Reed-Solomon code, called EPM (Enhanced Packet Mode), which, from an IP transmission point of view, is located at the Data Link layer....
