1.1 The beginnings in 1991
The concept of blockchain dates back to 1991: W. Scott Stornetta (a specialist in cryptography and distributed computing, who is considered the father of blockchain) and Stuart Haber (a cryptography researcher) described the concept of a cryptographically secured network of data blocks in the article "How to time-stamp a digital document" published in the Journal of Cryptography. .
