6. Developments

6.1 From the CS-1 set to the CS-2 set

The CS-1 smart grid package has shown its limitations in the following areas:

  • management of services and equipment RI owns ;

  • interfaces for interoperability between IR systems are not standardized. It is therefore not possible to offer multi-operator or international IR services using current IR platforms;

  • the RI CS-1 architecture can only be deployed on the PSTN (switched telephone network). The adaptation of RI for other types of network, such as mobile networks or broadband, is not covered;

  • RI CS-1 services are not multi-party. Services such as conferencing cannot be deployed on a CS-1 RI architecture....
