1. ITU-T standards

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), successor organization of the CCITT (International Telephony and Telegraphy Consultative Committee), has proposed a set of recommendations applicable to Internet telephony through its ITU-T standardization sector. These documents are referenced in the H series, which deals with audiovisual and multimedia systems, and more specifically with infrastructure and terminal equipment aspects in the context of audiovisual services.
