8. Communication between application and UPS

8.1 General

Communication between the UPS and the loads being supplied is necessary to secure the application and increase power supply availability.

This need for communication must be established to manage the application's own shutdown. For this function, the UPS sends information to correctly stop the application before the power supply is actually cut off.

Communication is also needed to manage stored energy as effectively as possible, by shutting down low-priority applications if necessary. This function is ensured by constantly communicating UPS performance data, such as charge rate and available autonomy.
