3. Constraints specific to SEM devices

Compared with air-insulated equipment, SEM switchgear warrants special precautions in terms of design, installation and operation. These particularities mainly concern grounding circuits, the location of internal fuses, the operation of disconnectors, dielectric strength tests after on-site assembly and the use of SF 6 .
