2.1 CHB (Cascaded H Bridge) topology

Today's technological developments mean that solutions based on IGCT and IGBT blockable DC voltage intermediate circuit converters are now technically and economically viable for high power ratings. For low and medium power ratings, solutions based on active filters are available. Here, we will only deal with high-power topologies. These converters are of the CHB (Cascaded H Bridge) type.
