2.1 Use of temperature-sensitive electrical parameters (PETS)
Today, temperature measurement of power semiconductor chips using PETS is mainly used to measure the thermal properties of power modules, and to assess their rate of degradation as they age. They are therefore one of the main tools for experimentally assessing the thermal resistances and impedances of these assemblies.
Measurement of a temperature-sensitive electrical parameter (PETS) involves subjecting certain electrodes of a power component to an excitation (current or voltage) and measuring a resulting temperature-dependent electrical parameter.
