3. Pre-sizing methodology

Sizing a large-gap coupler remains a difficult exercise compared to a conventional transformer. On the one hand, there are no standard magnetic cores; on the other, the low coupling forces us to reconsider the sizing principle in relation to the area product method, which, incidentally, gives very good results for a conventional high-frequency transformer .
