5. Conclusion

This article reviews the main principles of remote energy transfer, which aims to supply an electrical receiver without galvanic contact, for reasons of safety as well as greater flexibility of use. After an overview of possible techniques, the study focuses more specifically on electromagnetic induction coupling, suitable for transfer over short distances. Electromagnetic modelling of such "large-gap" couplers shows that resonance is rapidly required to limit the adverse effects of poor coupling. Several compensation structures have been proposed, including series-series resonance for weakly coupled systems.

Based on an application example involving the contactless charging of an electric vehicle, this study proposes a method for pre-dimensioning the coupler which, using simple magnetostatic finite element simulations, leads to the required winding dimensions....
