2.1 Method and specifications
In practice, the choice of dimensions for a transducer or an electrical machine is a synthesis of technical and economic aspects. Data is both electrical (voltage, frequency, etc.) and mechanical (power, torque, force).
The determination of geometric quantities of magnetic and electric circuits is characterized by the following constraints:
for ferromagnetic circuits, the aim is to work in the vicinity of the saturation bend, between 1 and 1.9 T depending on the length of the domains considered;
for electrical circuits, certain values of current density must not be exceeded, in order to maintain a temperature rise compatible with the thermal resistance...
