3. Organization of electrotechnical standardization in France
This chapter describes the most significant changes in standardization over the last two decades.
From its creation in 1907 until 2013, the stakeholders who made up the French Electrotechnical Committee entrusted UTE, a founding member of the international non-governmental standards organizations – the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) – with the mission of being the French Member of these organizations.
