Activity designed to establish, in the face of real or potential problems, arrangements for common and repeated use, aimed at achieving the optimum degree of order in a given context.
Note 1: This activity concerns, in particular, the formulation, distribution and application of standards.
Note 2: Standardization offers significant benefits, notably by better adapting products, processes and services to their intended purpose, preventing barriers to trade and facilitating technological cooperation.
