6. VMC (controlled mechanical ventilation)
The purpose of CMV is to renew stale indoor air in homes, for the health of their occupants. In air-conditioned premises, it renews the air by controlling its quantity. Coupled with a Canadian well or geothermal well, it naturally cools the home.
6.1 Single-flow CMV
Outside air enters through air intake grilles located in the main rooms, generally in the upper transom of windows and French windows, and then passes through the dwelling. It is then exhausted to the outside through grilles in bathrooms, WCs and kitchens (figure 15 ).
