4. Air handling units

An air handling unit (AHU) can be a single unit, or made up of modules added together depending on the configuration: ventilation modules, cooling and heating coils, filters, etc.

There are two types of air handling unit:

  1. the single-flow AHU (figure 10 ) which is either all fresh air, all return air or a mixture of the two flows;

  2. the double-flow AHU (figure 11 ), which allows all possible combinations of air intake, fresh air, exhaust air and treated air, depending on the configuration. This system is particularly well-suited to heating and cooling large spaces in which very good...
