6.1 Specific tests
In addition to conventional mechanical tests, there are also specific tests to characterize particular physical phenomena. These tests are often carried out for safety reasons, or to gain a better understanding of the material's behavior under real-life conditions.
Mechanical calculation models do not always take into account all the factors that influence material behavior. Certain tests may therefore be necessary to validate a calculation, for example.
