1.1 Insulation/waterproofing complex
The insulation/waterproofing complex, which insulates the roof thermally, protects it from the elements and various climatic stresses, and creates a layer resistant to root penetration, must also be able to withstand the forces of wind suction, whatever the level of vegetation coverage.
It can be fully adhered, semi-independent, independent or mechanically fastened, depending on the purpose of the terrace (accessible, non-accessible, garden...), the load-bearing element (wood, concrete, steel...), the slope of the roof, the type of insulation... It must comply with the relevant reference document (Avis Technique, Document Technique d'Application, Atex, Cahier des Clauses Techniques).
