6. Example of safety measures on a building site
Artisanal worksites are generally temporary. For a given period of time, the configuration of the site will change. In many cases, the work area is also home to other workers, and possibly machinery, making it a dangerous place for those present.
Each worker must be equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE): safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, mask, overalls, etc. The employer is responsible for supplying this equipment in the case of a company, or the contractor in the case of a craftsman or individual worker.
In the case of an outside contractor, the company's insurance is taken into account.
If the contractor is the owner of the premises (when working on his own home, for example), his comprehensive home insurance takes over.
