2.1 Statistics
Erecting, dismantling and working on scaffolding is not a risk-free situation.
It can be estimated that fatal accidents in the building industry break down roughly as follows:
Approximately 50% from insufficiently protected floors;
12% due to scaffolding overturning;
approx. 12% during assembly or disassembly;
Approx. 10% due to component failure;
Approx. 10% when accessing or leaving the scaffolding;
