4. Slings and gear

4.1 Sling identification

The identification of lifting accessories is very important for monitoring and regulatory checks. As a result, each accessory must be individually identified.

All lifting accessories must be permanently marked with the following information:

  • the manufacturer's identification mark ;

  • the number or series of letters identifying the accessory and linking it to the declaration of conformity;

  • maximum working load (MWL) ;

  • CE marking for slings put into service or sold after 1995.
