7. General conditions of use and storage of handling aids

7.1 Accessories

The accessories used must be of appropriate strength. Do not bend accessories excessively:

  • protect sharp corners with protective bags or brackets (figure 36 );

  • fit cable loops with cable lugs ;

  • never tie chains, ropes or cables;

  • Tie the ends of cables and ropes to prevent strands from unravelling;

  • ensure protection against fire, heat, corrosive products, cement for natural-fiber ropes and moisture for synthetic-fiber ropes;

  • contact the manufacturer for repairs....
